Gross-out humour seems to be something of a lost art in today's world, but wrestling history is stacked with disgusting ideas designed to make you lose your lunch. Yes, the world of pro wrestling has always been a place where sickness and grim imagery has had a place at the dinner table (usually farting whilst seated).

These gimmicks were largely short-lived experiments, and they all felt like backstage gags that somehow made it onto our television screens. WWE has often been home to questionable tastes and lowbrow laughs. Sometimes, it can work and provide catchphrases and clips that last a lifetime, but (more often than not) these belong in the garbage can that they've crawled out of.

Let's face it, the biz can't always be about 5 star matches and "cinema". On occasion, it's about bodily functions going wrong, sweaty asses (?!) and eating worms. No matter how seriously we take it, wrestling is sometimes just meant to be as daft as a brush factory.

Buckle up and bring your sick bag for this countdown of wacky wrestling gimmicks that were absolutely meant to make you vomit into your WWE slurpy cups.

7. Natalya (Can't Stop Farting)

Vince McMahon loving farts is one of the least surprising things you'll read this week. The tyrannical maniac was notoriously stern and difficult to please, but boy did he ever love the comedic value of someone ripping a fat stinker in front of the cameras.

Natalya Neidhart is wrestling royalty. She comes from one of the most decorated and respected family dynasties in the history of the game, and she's one of the most respected members of the WWE locker room. There is literally nothing about her look, presentation or heritage that makes anyone think that farting should be part of her repertoire.

Enter the gimmick.

At the height of the Divas era, when a pure wrestler like Natty was having to consider severe adjustments to make the best of her place on the roster, Vince gave her a gimmick where she'd continually break wind in backstage skits. This could have been McMahon being petty and trying to wield his power to make a member of the Hart clan look foolish on television, but it's every bit as likely that he commissioned this gimmick because he really loves farts
