The WORST Moment From EVERY WWE SummerSlam
2. Jelly Roll Goes John Cena (2024)
WWE and Triple H put on a pretty great SummerSlam overall in 2024, so there weren’t many lowlights.
That high standard across the board means it's challenging to pick out anything truly crap. It also means that the dubious award goes to Jelly Cena for his ‘Five Knuckle Shuffle’ on Austin Theory during a segment with The Miz, R-Truth, Theory and Grayson Waller. Jelly Roll was flown in for some time filler.
Critics (and harsh ones) will suggest that he's always time filler, but the singer has done a good job with his speaking parts on WWE TV in 2025 and 2026. At times, he's been one of the biggest highlights on episodes of SmackDown. That might well be damning for the blue brand's output, but it's nonetheless true.
Whether talking passionately to Randy Orton or Cody Rhodes behind the scenes, Jelly has excelled. He's even managed to look decent enough inside the ring when called upon, but that wasn't really the case back in 2024. Nah, his John Cena impersonation alongside Miz and Truth plugged a gap between Gunther vs. Damian Priest and the Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa main event.
That was it. Being completely fair, it was hardly like these guys were going to work the best segment in WWE PLE lore, or anything. Again, it speaks to just how tidy the show was as a whole that this is considered its worst lowlight.
Side note: Go back and watch Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk with Seth Rollins as special guest ref if you haven't since it happened. You won't be disappointed.
