10 Awesome Comics That Deserve Their Own Video Game

1. Marvel vs. DC

Marvelvsdc X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Marvel vs. Capcom. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. What's the big problem with these inter-universe fighting games? Well, that's pretty simple€”they aren't Marvel vs. DC. This game would allow fans to stop arguing about who would win in a fight, Superman or Thor, Batman or Black Panther, Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel. But now, they could pop in this game and play out those matches for themselves. The potential for DLCs would be endless, with an entire universe of characters that could be created for new match-ups: Deadpool vs. Lobo, Doctor Strange vs. Doctor Fate, Catwoman vs. Black Cat, Mr. Mxyzptlk vs. the Impossible Man. But that's just the start. Here's where the real fun begins. Back in the mid-90s, Marvel and DC did publish a Marvel vs. DC comic. It wasn't very good, but one of the best things that came out of it was the crazy-in-the-best-possible-way concept of the Amalgam Universe. The Amalgam Universe featured Marvel and DC characters merged together. Dark Claw was a combination of Batman and Wolverine, Super Soldier was Captain America and Superman, Speed Demon was Ghost Rider and the Flash, and there were a whole bunch of others, some that were awesome, some that were bizarre. What this game would have is an Amalgam feature where players could create their own Amalgam characters. You choose one Marvel and one DC character and then you get to go to town, creating their look from different aspects of the two characters' costumes, selecting what their powers are, then either choosing from a generated list of potential names by mashing the characters' names together, or creating your own. They can be either obvious pairings, like Hawkeye and Green Arrow, or ones that are completely out there, like Cable and Supergirl. Then with your Amalgam character, you can play against other people online and even share your characters with others who may want to download him/her. The combinations for such characters are practically endless, and that function alone could suck up hours of gameplay time, and if you have other Marvel/DC characters available as DLCs, that means even more opportunity for expansion. So Marvel and DC, get together and make this game.
