Licensed comics have always had their place in the industry, offering up continuations or original stories set in the fictional universes of some beloved franchises of cinema and television. Smaller comic publishers have many licenses on their books, with these titles making financial sense, given that they are relatively easy sells to customers due to their name recognition. For example, Boom Studios currently gives us Planet Of The Apes and Robocop comics; IDW Publishing has G.I. Joe, Transformers and Ghostbusters; and Dynamite Entertainment serves up new Game Of Thrones and Battlestar Galactica stories. The Sons Of Anarchy comic is perfect for anyone who wants to fill that gaping hole in their heart that was left whenever the show finished it's final episode in late 2014. SOA has an incredibly dedicated fanbase that followed the show through a number of peaks and troughs over it's seven year history, so it shouldn't be too hard to convince them to give the comic book the old college try. Currently written by Ed Brisson (Sheltered), with #17 seeing publication in January, this series offers a quality fix of SAMCRO mayhem every month for just a few quid. Nice.
