10 Awful Comic Book Characters That Don't Deserve A Movie Adaptation

9. Stilt-Man

When the Marvel superhero Daredevil found his way into theatres in 2003, many considered his big screen debut to be a disaster. In the years since then, the feature's reputation has only gotten worse. Actor Ben Affleck, who played the title role, went so far as to call it the only role he ever regretted playing. Coming from the man who starred in Reindeer Games, Phantoms and Forces of Nature, that's saying a lot. Considering how bad it turned out, one has to wonder €“ could Daredevil have been even worse? The answer is yes: much, much worse. Instead of Colin Ferrell's terrifically hammy villain Bullseye, the makers of Daredevil could have adapted one of the most hilariously unthreatening villains of all time: Stilt-Man. In the comics, Stilt-Man is one of Daredevil's greatest foes. This wobbly-legged terror possesses a suit of armor with telescopic legs that allows him to grow up to up to 250 feet tall, which he uses to rob high-rises. On the page this concept sounds good but audiences would have a hard time swallowing the idea Stilt-Man could conquer a flight of steps, let alone the world. Marvel recently announced that it has teamed up with Netflix to give Daredevil his own TV show. The studio could be testing the waters for Daredevil's return to the big screen. If the painful memory of Daredevil 2003 isn't enough to stop the studio from trying again then they should make sure history doesn't repeat itself and exclude Stilt-Man from the proceedings.
