10 Beloved DC Comics Due For A Comeback
3. Batman, Inc.
Batman is the hero, more than anyone save Iron Man, closely associated with a company. His WayneTech and the power and influence of his name, are as much of a power as his deduction or his muscles. However, the attachment was always nebulous, unexplained.
Until Batman, Inc. In that series, Batman announced, as Bruce Wayne, that WayneTech had been, since Batman's birth, funding him in secret, and were now ready to take the idea of Batman global. So he launched Batman, Inc., a company designated to finding and funding a Batman in every single city in the world - some of them taking the name Batman, like Dick Grayson in Gotham, and others a slightly different name, like Batwing.
The original series was, in addition to being a brilliant and logical next step for the idea of Batman, a great way to introduce new and interesting characters, a lot of them ones that would never be able to land their own comic, except for their exposure in this Batman-starring series, and a spectacular way to show Batman in a role he had never inhibited before.
It was great and ended too soon, and the DC Comics Universe would be better with its return.
