6. Tek Knight

Garth Ennis is one of the most recognizable names in comics, famous for books such as Preacher and Punisher. However, throughout his illustrious career, the one thing he has almost steadfastly refused to work on has been superhero books. So the question this time is, "what happens when a man gets asked, 'that's good, but when are you going to do a superhero book?' for nearly 20 years?".

The answer is, you take all that pent up rage and frustration at seeing an art form you love co-opted by a single subject and deliver a savage and scathing deconstruction of the superhero genre.

In The Boys, nothing is sacred, and every trope, character and in some cases, even creators are fair game for Ennis and artist Darrick Robertson's vicious pens. Although Tek Knight is only 50% Batman (the other 50% being Iron Man), there are enough similarities to make the comparison a valid one.

One of the founding members of the fictional group Payback, Tek-Knight is a wealthy man with no superpowers beyond his mind and will.

However, unlike Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark, he is a sexual compulsive who is kicked out of Payback after attempting to rape a teammate mid-flight.
