10 Best Batman Analogues

4. Night Thrasher

Nighthawk Marvel
Marvel Comics

Night Thrasher is Marvel's answer to Batman and a founding member of the New Warriors team of superheroes.

Unlike other characters on this list, he is neither a Batman substitute nor a way of deconstructing a specific trope of the genre. He is simply a creation that skirts about as close to the boundary of copyright infringement as it's possible to get without stepping over it.

After seeing his wealthy parents murdered before his eyes, Dwayne Taylor swore vengeance. By day he would run the Taylor Foundation, and at night he would train his body and mind by studying with the best private tutors and instructors money could buy. Taylor would eventually start patrolling the streets of New York City. Over time he and his guardians, Andrew Chord and Tai, would recruit a team of young heroes to help him in his pursuit of justice, the New Warriors.

Night Thrasher was a bundle of nineties clichés, and none of them have aged well.
