10 Best Comic Book Moments Of 2017

8. Steve Rogers Returns (Captain America #695)

While Steve Rogers had a pretty tumultuous 2017... and 2016, the more we think about it - there's no denying the strength of his return, which again, was delivered by the duo of Waid and Samnee.

Marvel Legacy's big return (no, it wasn't Logan) was the Steve Rogers we all know and love. Having been Nazified during the controversial Secret Empire, fans had been clamouring for the real Captain America to return for a long time - y'know, the one Jack Kirby and Joe Simon created during WWII, the anti-Nazi symbol of our time.

The return came in November with the release of Captain America #695, which subtly - and wonderfully - addressed the controversy by offering an analysis of what Captain America means to so many different people. It's beautifully drawn by Samnee, and Matt Wilson's colours look phenomenal.

It's warm, symbolic, and a fine turnaround from the doldrums Cap had been stuck in for most of the last two years. Here's hoping we have another Daredevil - and Black Widow - on our hands with it.
