Tonya Lightfoot has always dreamed of being a detective, even while playing tennis with bears, watching police procedural shows through the park rangers windows, and even scaring campers for fun - you know, the standard life of a Sasquatch.

However, she does go after her dream and joins the LAPD as the first Sasquatch police officer.

Originally introduced in a back-up story attached to Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles, those are collected with the new origin story, all written by Brandee Stilwell, and it is glorious!

Tonya's origin is not unique, the young adult wanting to be more than they are, deciding to go against the system and follow her dreams. That is a standard story. The spark of this, besides the fabulous art from Ron Randall and Ross A. Campbell, comes from how hopeful and just happy Tonya is. She is a Bigfoot but she is happy and maybe a bit naive but that's what makes this one of the most endearing books out in a long time.

There is so much more to say about this but honestly, go and buy it! The humor and heart, the joy and glee are palpable and that is why it is the best buy of this week.
