6. Klaus And The Crying Snowman #1

Stan Lee Banner
Boom! Studios

Ever since 2015, the Klaus comics from BOOM! Studios have become an annual staple with capturing the meaning of Christmas, Santa Claus and the holiday season as a whole and being badass about it.

This time around, Klaus is reattaching body parts onto an amnesiac snowman named Sam while explaining the tale of how that snowman helped save the universe from the same beings that caused the Twilight of the Gods.

Grant Morrison is known for his grandiose storytelling methods, strange worlds and even stranger psychedelic freak-outs, which makes the big heart beating in this book almost as insane.

In between the extraterrestrial battles, Klaus reaching back to his Odin roots, and the whole Twilight of the Gods, the personal story of this crying, melting Sam the Snowman showcases what truly matters for the seasons. Dan Mora wraps the bow on this spectacular one-shot with art that can be as epic as the action dictates or as heartbreaking as the wordless moments.

This is a holiday tradition that should be the comic equivalent of the Rankin-Bass stop motion-films to all readers!
