10 Best Comic First Issues This Week (Dec 19th, 2018)

5. Ashe: Warmother #1

Stan Lee Banner
Marvel Comics/Yasmine Putri

In this origin tale for the epic archer, Ashe, her tribe is weak and poor under the guidance of her delusional mother, Grena. The majority of this issue is setting up who Ashe as a woman is, the politics and sheer vastness of the icy world of the Freljord.

League of Legends is a popular game and has been popular to an awe-inspiring degree since its launch in 2009. With almost a decade of being the king of the MOBA mountain, Odin Austin Shafer delivers the lore naturally through interactions and the story without stopping the plot for a glossary. As for the art, the world comes alive and despite the icy land and people, have such a embedded warmth that Nina Vakueva is truly divine on this!

The sheer scope of the drama bleeds through every panel making it one of the best fantasy comics out in a while.
