Country: USA Noteworthy Characters Portrayed: Harley Quinn (DC Comics), Anna (Frozen), Princess Jasmine (Aladdin) Makes Own Costumes: Yes Career Highlights: Although the Walt Disney Company has a reputation for being overly protective of its intellectual property, Lisa Rosenberg has gotten some of her best results by cosplaying their characters. In 2013, she and Meagan Marie dressed up as Anna and Elsa respectively from the blockbuster movie Frozen. Rather than being sent a C & D like certain daycare centers did, Rosenberg and Marie found their work being featured on the Disney Style blog. It was something Rosenberg described as a "dream come true." It didn't stop there, though: They were subsequently contacted by Time magazine and featured in print for the February 24, 2014 issue. Earlier in 2013 Rosenberg was cosplaying as Princess Jasmine at Wondercon. She encountered popular Youtube personality Kassem G and agreed to an interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3crOZzuKjY While his style of humor was problematic as far as many of her fans were concerned, Rosenberg said that she was a fan of him and happy with the interview. The video was very significant for increasing her following. But on a strictly professional level, by far Rosenberg's most significant success has been her line of custom-made hoodies under the label Rarity's Boutique. She made numerous articles of clothing that appealed to many fandoms such as My Little Pony, Dr. Who, Portal, etc. While hoodies are not what we usually think of as cosplay, through Rarity's Boutique she has made such things as a crude costume of Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender. That's a character most female cosplayers don't even attempt. The company got so many orders that she became swamped and at the time of writing it's been closed indefinitely.
