Jokers fate in Batman: Arkham City easily lays claim to being his most impactful death scene. The character as portrayed by Mark Hamill in the Arkham series is, for the gamer generation, a continuation of the definitive Joker that Hamill voiced years ago in the animated show. We all grew up watching the 90s cartoon, and to play the future of the animated world in these more mature games has been an emotional experience for many. Call me sick, but when Joker succumbed to the Titan poisoning and chuckled his last, I shed a tear. The scene of Batman carrying Jokers body in the street, bearing the corpse the same way he held the lifeless Robin Jason Todd, is devastating. Every passing second holds the weight of so much character history JOKER THE IMMORTAL on the theater marquee, the stilling of Jokers thugs and the sobs of Harley Quinn, the disturbed and questioning reaction of Commissioner Gordon. Batman lays the body on the hood of Gordons car and leaves without a word. The Joker is dead. Long live the Joker.
