In this Elseworlds (non-canon) storyline, the Joker pays dearly for one of his worst crimes brutally killing Lois Lane. The story takes place a few decades in the future, and Joker has aged along with the rest of the DC Universe. His smile lines look deeper, his hairline receded, his physique heavier. Alex Rosss hyper-realistic illustrations prove the only thing creepier than the Joker is the elderly Joker. While Superman is away, Joker singlehandedly wipes out the entire Daily Planet staff. When he arrives at trial, super-powered upstart Magog (I know, Magog who?) does what Batman and Superman never would and kills him quickly with an energy blast. As smoke pours out of his body, the Jokers final expression seems to say that actually, hes pretty flabbergasted.
