10 Best Single Issue Comics Stories You Might Not Have Read
3. Tangled Web #4 - Severance Package

The fact that a Spider-Man story where the wall-crawler appears in name only is on this list is a testament to just how good this comic is.
Tangled Web was an anthology comic showcasing Spider-Man's world and his supporting cast. This instance looks at life inside Wilson Fisk's criminal organization and just what it means to work for the Kingpin of Crime.
When Spider-Man foils one of Fisk's nefarious dealings, the Kingpin must place blame and an example must be made. The story focuses on a man who has worked for the Kingpin for 20 years facing impending death on his last day. There is no clever twist ending or wildly inventive outcome to see things turning out for the best.
While Greg Rucka's writing may be up to his usual impeccable standards, it's Eduardo Risso's stunning artwork that sets this book apart. Risso works best in the gritty noir style of 100 Bullets, and this story set in the cesspool of Wilson Fisk's criminal empire is perfect for his talent.
