During his time as the star-spangled man with a plan, Barnes managed to do something that for most heroes is practically impossible (looking at you especially, Spider-Man): earn the respect and trust of the American public as a whole, even that of Tony Stark who, when Barnes took up the mantle, had just fought a war with the previous Captain.
