10 Best Supervillains Who Only Appear Once

4. Anarchist - Justice League Of America #127 (1976)

Codpiece Doom Patrol #70 (1993)
DC Comics

The Green Lantern Corps. is an intergalactic force that maintain peace throughout the cosmos. Each Lantern is armed with a Power Ring, which can manifest any object the wielder imagines. The ring can work on any object unless it's yellow due to a spectral impurity.

However, the Corps. was compromised when a metahuman called Anarchist tapped into this yellow impurity, allowing him to steal the energy of any Power Ring. After accessing the energy of Earth's designated Lantern, Hal Jordan, Anarchist used his newfound power to defeat the Justice League.

Luckily, Anarchist didn't realise the Power Ring needed to be recharged every 24 hours in order to function. Once Hal's ring went dead, Anarchist lost his power, allowing the League to send him to the authorities. Hal then installed a psychic block in the supervillain's mind to prevent him from accessing a Power Ring's energy.

Although we never saw Anarchist again, he deserves to be explored a lot more. Since it's been revealed decades later that the Power Rings' impurity was created by the Green Lantern's oldest enemy, Parallax, it would be cool to see Anarchist return as an acolyte to the ancient being.
