10 Best Times Superheroes Came Back From The Dead

1. Barry Allen

Barry Allen Final Crisis
DC Comics

The ultimate selfless act deserves the ultimate resurrection, and that's just what Barry Allen got.

When The Anti-Monitor points an anti-matter cannon at the Earth with every intention of vaporising it out of existence, it's up to the Flash to destroy it. The Flash at the time, Barry Allen, does this by creating a speed vortex to draw all its power in, but does so at the cost of his own life.

Marv Wolfman has always claimed that he left an out for Barry to return after Crisis on Infinite Earths, yet it would take 20 years for someone to actually put it into practice, and that someone was everybody's M.V.P Grant Morrison, who re-introduced Allen to The DC Universe during Final Crisis #2.

As Jay Garrick and Wally West arrive at the point where the God Bullet travels through time to kill Orion, a portal opens and the two recognise familiar vibrations. With Jay and Wally standing before it stunned, we cut to the last page, and there he is, in all his glory, yelling "RUN!!"

Chasing the God Killer and outrunning the Black Racer, Barry Allen returns to the land of the living in sensational style, making a legion of fans unbelievably happy in the process.
