10 BIGGEST Comic Book Characters (By Size)
7. Krakoa
Approximate Size - 1,100 Square Miles.
After the original X-Men detected a mutant signature on the island of Krakoa, they ventured there to investigate. When the X-Men go missing, Professor Charles Xavier assembled a new team composed of Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Thunderbird.
When they head to Krakoa to locate the X-Men, the team learns the island itself is alive and was the mutant signature that they detected earlier. After the original team landed, Krakoa siphoned energy from them for nourishment. Luckily, the new X-Men rescued all the mutants and hurled Krakoa into space.
The living island, Krakoa, was a very significant character since he first appeared in Giant Size X-Men #1 in 1975, which was the debut of Colossus, Storm, and Nightcrawler. It was also the same comic where Wolverine joined the X-Men.
It's also worth mentioning that this was the first X-Men comic in five years since the series was cancelled due to flagging sales. It was this story that made X-Men become popular and has remained so ever since. Krakoa may not be well-known, but he is a part of one of the most significant comics in history.
