10 Biggest Comics News Stories Of The Week

So Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are lovers now?

Starting right now and continuing every week until continuity resets, this feature will be bringing you the top comics stories of the week! Here are the stories that broke last week, including a big company move, a survey showing a demographic sea change in the industry, a love between two well-established lady characters, a new director and actor, the coming return of the character with the highest-profile death this year (no, not Wolverine). But to start things off, here's a piece about a Batman unlike any you've read about before...

10. Bromley Batman

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syv7TFl3Sj8 A mysterious figure in a costume prowls the streets of Bromley in South London. Last Monday, he saved a man from members of a knife gang, kicking some to the ground and swinging another into a hedge. Later, he foiled a purse-snatching and broke up a fight between older men over money. The accounts are similar enough that they all seem to be talking about the same would-be superhero, especially since they all describe a man with serious martial-arts training. "Real-life superheroes" are a fairly established phenomenon, though more common in America. Though the people rescued by the Bromley Batman are grateful, police tend to disapprove of this sort of vigilantism, claiming a "real-life superhero"'s actions could put themselves, or other people, at considerable risk. Still, as of now, the Bromley Batman seems to be making London streets feel slightly safer.
