Entourage was a TV series and is now a movie about Vince Chase, a star whose first big break comes in the form of an Aquaman movie directed by James Cameron. At the time the TV series was released, such a film seemed just believable enough, but not likely to actually get made and disrupt audiences' suspension of disbelief. But even as the film hits theaters, a real Aquaman film seems more and more likely. Instead of Chase, DC Entertainment has cast Jason Momoa. And instead of Cameron, the film's just-confirmed director is James Wan. Wan's principal reputation has been as a horror director, having worked on the original Saw, Insidious 2 and the Conjuring, although he just broadened his resume dramatically with Furious 7, the highest-grossing film of the year so far. Still, early photographs of Momoa as Aquaman seem to hint that the intensity of Wan's earlier work will come into play.
