10 Biggest DC Comics Controversies‏

1. The New 52

DC doesn't exactly shy away from reboots. In fact, since the classic eighties maxi-series Crisis on Infinite Earths, the company has had a continuity-tidying crossover event every few years to try and make sense of its decades of backstory and characters.

I'm not sure what the straw that broke the camel's back was, but in 2011 the most recent crossover, Flashpoint, ended in a complete reset of the DC Universe. To mixed success, to put it mildly. Along with being blighted by editorial meddling and behind-the-scenes troubles, the New 52 has been controversial amongst fans for the changes made to characters, the staggering amount of the 52 series launched that have since been cancelled, the lack of quality of a lot of the writing and art, delays, and a total failure to complete their mission statement of making the DCU more accessible to new readers.

I defy you to find a mention of the New 52 - by someone other than DC's editors - which is accompanied by anything positive.
