2. Image Will Keep Going From Strength To Strength
If creators arent signing exclusive deals at either DC or Marvel en masse, then theres a good chance theyre going to keep abandoning the Big Two altogether and try a sharper Image. The creator-owned publisher have long since been a boon to writers and artists who get to retain all creative control and rights to their work, making billionaires of the likes of Mark Millar when they sell said rights to Hollywood studios. Things have been getting a lot better than the heyday of Millarworld, however. In fact Image is on something of a roll right now, debuting new titles every other week, with the majority of them being at least worth checking out. The other half of their output is absolutely essential, and provides something for everyone, regardless of your taste (or even if youve never read a comic book before). Jasons Aaron and Latour have their hardboiled crime drama Southern Bastards. Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie spin pop music myth in The Wicked + The Divine. Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky have a series about people who have sex, stop time, and rob banks called Sex Criminals. Seriously. Its amazing. Between those, the ongoing Saga and new additions like Bitch Planet, expect 2015 to be when Image goes full supernova.
