Having any hero - or villain - wield Thor's hammer should instantly denote how big of a threat they really are. Sometimes, however, having a character lift Mjolnir can end up inspiring the opposite effect, as was the case when Red Hulk went on a rampage across the Marvel Universe in 2008.

A Jeph Loeb-Ed McGuinness creation, 'Rulk' marked his introduction by defeating pretty much everyone in the Marvel Universe. It was overkill plain and simple, and while the character has his fans, the image of him lifting Mjolnir in space and tossing Thor around like a rag-doll only epitomised just how childish a creation he was. Not that it would impede his chances of joining the Avengers later down the line...

But how did he end up lifting the world's most unliftable hammer? In his confrontation with Thor, Rulk used the momentum of the hammer to carry himself and the God of Thunder out of Earth's atmosphere, allowing him to wield the hammer in zero-gravity and promptly lay waste to a justifiably shocked Odinson.
