Superman might've been the most obvious candidate from the DC Universe to wield Mjolnir, but Wonder Woman - Princess Diana herself - was the first.
During yet another Marvel/DC crossover (this time in 1996), Wonder Woman managed to wield Mjolnir (albeit in a really unflattering nineties redesign), against Storm herself.
Diana being Diana, she ceded control of the hammer as she felt it would be an unfair contest to use it in battle. Worse still, because the crossover was optioned as a series of fights between Marvel and DC's heroes - fights that would be decided by fan votes, no less - Wonder Woman ended up losing anyway.
In any case, it's always interesting to see different mythologies collide, and with Marvel too having incorporated Greek myth into their universe, it wasn't the first time it happened...

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
