10 Comic Book Characters Everyone Hates (And Why They're Wrong)

The Big Blue Boy Scout has always rubbed folks up the wrong way. Whether that's because of his homespun apple pie patriotism or because he's a super-powered alien that no-one can realistically pose a physical threat too, there is no doubting that Superman really isn't all that well liked.

As the years rolled by, fans voted with their wallets to make Batman the face of the DC franchise, while the contempt for Clark Kent just grew and grew. That's a major shame for all concerned, because underneath all that goody two shoes exterior is a genuinely compelling character.

This is a man who sacrificed himself to stop Doomsday from wreaking havoc on the world. He's also gone toe to toe with Darkseid on multiple occasions - in itself no small feat - as well as foiling Brainiac at every turn. Without him, there'd be no Lois Lane, no Daily Planet, no Supergirl or Lex Luthor, and who really wants a world without Bizzaro in it?

Still not convinced? Then got a copy of Alex Ross and Mark Waid's Kingdom Come, and if that doesn't change your mind, nothing will.
