10 Comic Book Characters Everyone Hates (And Why They're Wrong)

2. Damian Wayne

Jason Todd Robin Red Hood
DC Comics

Damian Wayne was quite dislikable when he first got dumped on Bruce Wayne's doorstep.

Whiny and self-entitled, this little psychopath really made it hard for anyone to take him to their collective bosom in the same way as they had with Dick Grayson or Tim Drake. However, 13 years have passed since that awkward introduction and he has grown to be an intricate part of Bat-Lore and one that rightly deserves to wear the Robin outfit.

It took the ultimate sacrifice for Damian to turn his life around. He is brutally killed while fighting his clone, Heretic, during the Batman Incorporated storyline. This leads to Wayne Sr. taking on a huge quest to resurrect his fallen son, and when he returns there is something a little different about him.

Sure, he can still be annoying as hell - and seems to walk a fine line between hero and villain due to his love of excessive violence - but this is all a lot easier to digest since his death was one of the most heartbreaking moments in recent comic book history.

As the stories have grown, so too has Damian, who now looks to repent for his previous actions at every opportunity.
