10 Comic Book Characters Everyone Hates (And Why They're Wrong)

It can't be easy leading the X-Men. After all, you're risking your life for a world that fears your kind and battling fellow mutants that would rather see those same humans exterminated.

You also never know where the next attack is coming from, with both the Brotherhood and even members of the X-Men switching allegiances all the time. Add a tiny annoying Canuck who's always trying to seduce your wife into the equation, and it's understandable as to why Cyclops' life really isn't a laugh a minute.

But if you thought that'd cut him some slack with fans, then you're sadly mistaken.

The fact that he has survived numerous battles with the likes of Magneto and Apocalypse doesn't seem to have helped his popularity, nor has the fact that he has seen his wife die more times than South Park's Kenny or that he managed to battle the Hulk to a standstill. At the end of the day, most just seem to revile Scott Summers, with a miserly onscreen presence in Fox's X-Men films begetting a lukewarm response in the pages of Marvel Comics too.

Maybe if he grew himself some fancy claws people would be more inclined to root for him, but for now, Cyclops is still one of the most misunderstood X-Men out there.
