10 Comic Book Characters The Joker Has Killed

4. Monty

The Joker Man Who Laughs
DC Comics

Joker henchman Monty isn't exactly a household name in the DC Universe, but the gruesomely violent way Mister J took him out for gawking at Harley Quinn as she performed a strip show earns the lackey a spot on this list.

The two-bit criminal's one and only appearance came in Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo's 2008 graphic novel Joker, the most memorable panel of which features a skinned-alive Monty bleeding out on a stage in front of an audience.

To punish his former accomplice for allowing his eyes to linger a little too long, the Joker peeled away his flesh from the neck down and left him to die in agony, in the middle of a busy nightclub, no less. And you thought the villain's disappearing pencil trick from The Dark Knight was brutal!

Monty, of course, wouldn't be the last person to regret taking in an eyeful of Harley Quinn in J's presence. Remember what happened to that gangster in Suicide Squad?
