Imagine now a theoretical scenario where you're in a police force that requires you constantly risk your life. You face the threat of death literally every day, and yet it seems like your teammates get all the credit - and you constantly get dunked on for having anger issues as a result of your terrible childhood.
Sound bad? Well, it was Guy Gardner's every waking moment in the DC universe for a good while, and somehow he was still hated by fans. Guy was a jerk, sure, but then everytime he did a good deed it seemed to always blow up in his face - like the time in Injustice where he got his arm ripped off for trying to help Hal Jordan.
With all this in mind, Guy's rage seems pretty justifiable - or, at least, understandable enough he shouldn't be hated for it.
