Garabed Bashur is a mutant who regularly finds himself in conflict with everyone's favourite Merc' with the Mouth, Deadpool. When Bashur's powers manifested, he was able to consciously receive any form of electronic data and store it in his mind. Since Bashur originally found his mutation overwhelming, Professor Charles Xavier tutored him to help him control it.

However, the X-Men's founder kicked him out of his home when he learned Bashur was intending to use his skills for his own nefarious schemes. Using his powers, Bashur amassed a fortune and formed a group of mercenaries called The Executive Elite to hunt down and kill his enemies. During this time, Bashur took on the name Commcast... well... for a while.

You see, Bashur has the misfortune of sharing his name with the billion-dollar conglomerate, Comcast (although it's spelt with one "m"). Even though the Comcast Company was worth a fortune in the 1990s, its wealth magnified a hundred fold over the years.

As the company became universally known, Bashur's name couldn't be disassociated from it. As a result, Bashur's nom de guerre was officially changed to Black Box.
