10 Comic Book Heroes Who Were Secretly Replaced

9. Dick Grayson As Batman

Daken Wolverine
DC Comics

Is there any more successful or popular superhero sidekick than the former boy wonder, Dick Grayson? Sure, Krypto the super dog has a few things going for him. I mean, he served in the Legion of Super pets, and he was an agent of the Space Canine Patrol, but we're not here to talk about Krypto, so stop bringing him up, would you?

So Dick Grayson was Batman for a while.

After the events of Final Crisis, where Darkseid kills (lol, not really) Bruce Wayne, a struggle ensues between Jason Todd and Dick Grayson to see who will become the new Batman.

Of course, Dick wins (I mean he's Nightwing for god's sake), and he takes on Bruce's son, Damian, as the new Robin.

Dick ably handles the cape and cowl in Bruce's absence, managing Damian's anger and maintaining a much better romantic life that Bruce ever dreamed of having.

Who are we kidding? Bruce doesn't dream of women. He dreams of bats gliding through gothic columns and billowing fog while an inner monologue shouts, "I am Justice, I am the night!"
