10 Comic Book Species With Extremely Weird Names

9. Bamfs (Marvel)

"Bamf" is famously the noise made by Nightcrawler's teleportation power and, as such, it is highly appropriate that the Marvel species of the same name are a race of impish interdimensional gremlins-like creatures who resemble miniature versions of the fiendish-looking X-Men member. The original Bamf was actually named "Bamf" (how original!?) and he remains the only named member of the species to this day. They were originally believed to be mythical, until Nightcrawler himself actually encountered them in an alternate reality - a reality in which Nightcrawler believes a fairytale told by Kitty Pryde had come to life. They are teleporters, like Nightcrawler himself, are generally benevolent and look to aid the good guys when they can - although they did actually flank the evil Azazel (also a teleporter) when he arrived on Earth.
