10 Comic Happy Endings That Were Secretly Terrible

Avengers & X-Men: AXIS is a particularly dramatic story, featuring an event that results in the Marvel cast having their morality flipped, so villains turn to heroes and vice versa. All this drama in mind, you'd think that the comic's ending - where this change was swapped back - would account for a pretty happy ending.

You'd almost be right.

But there is one key problem, in that not every character was reverted back. Iron Man, Havok and Sabretooth all avoided the reinversion spell, which would result in an evil Avenger, Havok joining the X-Men as a hidden time bomb, and Sabretooth optionally placing himself in jail despite now having genuinely heroic intentions.

Even those who were reinverted weren't all cheery stories, as Red Skull's would see the Nazi take control of his own body again, instead of Professor X, who was once more forced to be a passenger in the mind of a madman Everyone else was fine though, so... hooray?
