10 Comic Villains Who Were Right All Along
1. Colonel Jonas
As the villain of the Damage series, you'd expect that Colonel Jonas would be the archetypal 'evil government operative' figure. After all, Ethan is clearly unwillingly made into the monstrous Damage by her in the start, so she must be the bad guy...right?
Only, we find out Ethan agreed to become Damage, knowing that this would mean he'd have to be watched almost permanently to make sure he didn't run rampant. And so, Colonel Jonas is considered a villain for... not wanting a destructive grey Hulk rampaging around without some kind of guidance? As much as this is made out to be somehow evil of her, it seems pretty fair to want to know where the man who could total a city is at any given time.
Worse yet, issue #7 of Damage reveals that Jonas has been working with the Damage Project after an explosion put her husband in a coma and lost her an eye, which also means that she's entirely motivated by making sure that similar fates don't happen to other people - all of which is pretty hard to not consider an understandable motive.
