10 Comics That Made Us Ashamed To Be Nerds‏

3. Star Trek/X-Men

This one is embarrassing in a wholly different way: because we all got wayyyyy too excited for it. A crossover between two groups that occupy different pillars of the Geek Trinity, and it's got the original Trek crew? Sign us up! We'll buy ten! We'll buy them all! The only way it could get better if they did another crossover, this time with the motley band of mutants meeting the crew of the Next Generation. Oh yeah, that happened too! So what's to be ashamed of there? After all, there shouldn't be any shame in the stuff you like or get excited about. Well, in the case of Star Trek/X-Men, that excitement was misplaced, because it was pretty terrible. Besides some funny one-liners (such as Kirk's response to Gladiator punching the Enterprise) and character moments (like Spock doing the Vulcan nerve pinch on an antsy Wolverine), it was a fairly middle-of-the-road comic. Sigh. You can't always get what you want.
