10 Comics Villains Humiliated By The Joker
1. Harley Quinn
Where to begin?
The Joker and Harley Quinn's dysfunctional relationship has been a hallmark of their stories since Harley was introduced in the DCAU in 1992. It is probably at this point one of the longest enduring relationships in comics.
Which makes it all the sadder that the Joker has constantly, endlessly tormented Harley for the simple act of loving him.
This partial list of evil deeds crosses canons and mediums, but they all reflect how horribly Joker has humiliated the former Harleen Quinzel:
-talked her into betraying her principles as a psychiatrist;
-persuaded her (or pushed her) into a vat of chemicals to follow his transformation;
-threw her out of a building for succeeding in almost killing Batman when he couldn't;
-sacrificed her countless times to Batman or the authorities so he could get away:
-told her repeatedly that she would never be good enough to be in the Legion of Doom;
-tried to launch her into space because she was a 'distraction';
-turning her own hyenas against her;
-returned from the 'dead' in the New 52, objected to Harley's newfound independence, kidnapped her, tortured her, and left her in a cell filled with what appeared to be similarly clothed and very dead 'Harleys'.
And every time, almost without fail, Harley returns to her puddin', only for the cycle to repeat itself over again.
