10 Comics Villains Who Legit Reformed (And Never Turned Back)
5. Puma - Web Of Spider-Man #50
Thomas Fireheart is an interesting case of redemption in that his initial villainy is motivated by trying to kill Spider-Man - and yet, even a reformed Puma would gladly kill Spider-Man with a good enough excuse, given he still holds an intense dislike for the character.
What Puma does like, however, is his own honour, and thus the hired assassin turns from fighting Spider-Man, to trying to defend him, after Thomas feels he has 'dishonoured' himself by initially believing that Spider-Man was a thief.
The shapeshifter goes as far as to buy the Daily Bugle to try and redeem the web slinger's name through the press, despite having a profound hatred for the hero on a personal level.
Fireheart never grows fond of Parker, but does develop a grudging respect for him, and still appears to be going down heroic lines with his most recent feature in Secret Empire, where he is part of the Underground that are fighting against Hydra forces.
