Having the leftover brain of a French scientist as a criminal mastermind was a bad idea, but giving him an animal lover was by far the worse idea. His lover is another hyper-intelligent primate named Monsieur Mallah, creating the oh-so-cute couple of the brain leftovers of a scientist and a gorilla. That's the kind of thing you just don't mention out loud if you think of it, even in brainstorming sessions. That is unless of course you want your dearly beloved to call the men in straight jackets to come take you away. Monsieur Mallah has an IQ of over 170, being the result of Brain's work when he still had his body, so it makes sense for him to be close enough to human to have romantic feelings of some sort, but a brain and an ape being together is just awkward, as well as impractical. When the romantic attraction between them first developed, Brain was in a robotic body, but the body eventually developed a sentient mind of its own, and self-destructed as they kissed. Since then, Brain has always been in a jar. There have been some embarrassing ideas in comics over the years, but this one takes the cake. It's a toss-up which is more embarrassing: the fact that this character ever existed to begin with, or the fact that the couple has endured this long, even making appearances in The New 52. If DC writers should ever grace us with their permanent deaths, celebrations will commence across the country.
I'm an entertainment writer, as well as a fantasy, science fiction, and dystopia author. I began writing my first book, a medieval fantasy novel, when I was 12 years old. While I never published that work, it was instrumental in jump-starting my writing career, as I branched out into other stories and worlds, including space opera and dystopia. My first published work, Finding Sage, was completed and released in 2014. While working on Finding Sage, I began to expand my writing skills into other areas, picking up entertainment writing at first as a hobby, and then as a more serious undertaking.
