10 Deadliest Comic Book Assassins (That You'd Totally Hire)

1. X-23

Laura Kinney had a tough childhood. Created as a clone of Wolverine, the twenty-third attempt, she was born and bred as an assassin for shadowy organisation The Facility. For the right price, her handlers would unleash her on any target.

Laura is basically a smaller, female version of Logan. She has the same accelerated healing factor, enhanced senses, speed, and agility Wolverine displays. She has two adamantium claws that pop through her knuckles, as well as one in each foot. She is fluent in several languages and extremely intelligent.

Because of the circumstances of her birth and early life, Laura is a phenomenal hand-to-hand fighter and has extensive training in firearms, explosives, and tactical planning. Laura has conditioning built into her DNA that is triggered by a certain scent; upon smelling it she flies into a berserker rage, killing anyone in sight.

After escaping from The Facility and leaving her life as an assassin behind, Laura sought out Professor X and her 'father' and joined both the X-Men and X-Force. She also took on Wolverine's role for a time after his 'death.'

Interestingly, X-23 was introduced in the Wolverine and the X-Men animated series before proving popular enough to move her into the mainstream Marvel canon
