2009's Ultimatum is a story that many readers lambasted at the time of its release and in the years since, and with good reason.

Again, this is a tale from Marvel's Ultimate realm, and it was one that turned many off for how hard it went to try and prove that it was edgy and violent. And in one such edgy and violent act, the unfortunate Wasp is killed and then eaten.

By the time the nefarious Blob got to her, Janet Van Dyne was already dead - one of the many drowned victims of Magneto's Doomsday plot to decimate New York - and Blob being, well, the Blob, he thought it only natural to make the most of this death by eating Wasp.

As Hank Pym and Hawkeye discover Janet's body, they find her with her insides pulled out as Blob proclaims how she "tastes like chicken". It was grim, it was gruesome, and it was a disgusting fate for one of the original founding members of the Avengers.

If one bout of cannibalism wasn't enough, mind, Hank - in his Giant Man guise - would retaliate by biting off Blob's head.
