10 Most Expensive Comic Books Ever Sold

9. Captain America Comics #1

Sold for: $343,057.00CGC: 9.2 If you have three hundred grand lying around, you could spend it on a lot worse than a comic featuring a patriotic dude punching Hitler in the face. Cover-dated March 1941, Cap's first appearance was brought to life by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, at a time when America had yet to enter the war and Marvel was still called Timely Comics. A name which was was pretty fitting in this case. This copy sold in 2011, and there's a few others on the top 100 list for pricey comic sales. The issue introduces Cap, Bucky, a different Red Skull to the one we all know and love and, er, President Roosevelt. A star-studded debut for sure, and more than worth the price of admission. Of course you could just get it on the Marvel app for 99p or something, but you can't brag about that as much, and iPads don't look nearly as cool hung up on the wall.
