10 Most Expensive Comic Books Ever Sold

7. Flash Comics #1

Sold for: $350,000.00CGC: 9.6 Pretty good price for a comic book about a couple of newspaper reporters. The fact that those reporters were a guy who can run faster than the speed of light and one who looks like a hawk may have helped. Jay Garrick became the original Flash after inhaling vapours of "hard water" (don't try that at home; not cos it's dangerous, just it'll be a waste of time), whilst Carter Hall became Hawkman when he realised he was the reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince (which isn't really something you can do at home, unless you're in possession of some moderate-level hallucinogens). In 2010 the comic that boasted both these characters' first appearances sold for a cool $350,000. It's safe to assume this was because of the debut of two of DC's most enduring B-list heroes, and not due to the origin stories of superpowered cowboy Whip or disappointingly-not-the-punk-musician Johnny Thunder.
