Due to a series of elaborate and awful schemes, very few people trust Deathstroke. Generally, this is what the assassin wants, but every once in a while it completely screws him over.

This is best shown halfway through the 2016 Deathstroke comic, where his team show their confidence in him by watching him bleed to death on the floor, convinced the whole thing is some sort of elaborate prank.

Watching a room full of superheroes look at their mentor bleeding out and sort of shrugging at each other is endlessly funny, especially because - in their defence - it’s exactly the kind of test that Deathstroke would do. Slade appearing a little surprised before he passes out is the cherry on top, as it shows the guy is perfectly capable of miscalculating a situation – and miscalculating it massively.
