10 Goofiest Moments In The Early Days Of Spider-Man

5. The Seventies TV Show

Surprisingly, that's not the worst TV show Spider-Man's ever been involved with. Peter Parker's not had the best luck with his big-screen incarnations, with Sony already making plans to reboot the franchise with a different, younger actor for the second time this decade. On the small screen, though, he usually fares a bit better. Kids love Ultimate Spider-Man, and the nineties TV show was excellent. Those triumphs were built on a foundation of unqualified failures, however €“ Amazing Friends was at least popular during its run, even if it was naff. The seventies, live-action Spider-Man series never had that luxury. Spinning out of a made-for-TV movie aired the year before, 1978's The Amazing Spider-Man on NBC didn't have the budget for any sort of special effects, so mostly Peter Parker ran around on the ground and fought generic thugs. Even Stan Lee didn't think it was much cop, stating so publicly even when he was a script consultant.
