Spider-man and the Human Torch met under less than stellar circumstances in 1963's The Amazing Spider-Man.

Very early on in his career the web-slinger would attempt to join the Fantastic Four. Though his methods of "auditioning" and his monetary aspirations led to Spidey continuing his solo career having not made the best first impression.

As the years went on though, the two young heroes would grow a true friendship that endures to this day.

Storm would even entrust his spot on the FF after his temporary death in 2011, the team being re-named the Future Foundation out of respect for the hot headed hero.
