8. Cable & Deadpool
The Merc With the Mouth, and The Man Out of Time. Confusingly enough, Cable is actually the son of Cyclops and a clone of Jean Grey, but was displaced to the future where he grew to his current age, and then travelled back. The pair first met when Deadpool was hired to kill Cable, a plot that eventually causes them to reconcile, which in turn led to their joint series 'Cable & Deadpool'.
Deadpool's famous for his irreverent, wacky humour, frequent fourth-wall breaking and laissez-faire attitude to his own safety, whereas Cable is a hard-nosed soldier, who doesn't suffer fools gladly.
The pair have been through some weird adventures together, due to time-travel and alternate timelines. Thanks to the effects of a virus that cause Cable to have to swallow and regurgitate Deadpool, their DNA becomes linked, meaning whenever they teleport, they often land with their bodies all mashed together.
Some other crazy Deadpool & Cable adventures include Deadpool lobotimising Cable, having to raise a de-aged version of Cable, and a Cable clone trying to get Deadpool to kill the original. All in a day's work for one of Marvel's weirdest partnerships.
