10 Holidays To Not Invite A Superhero To

2. Valentine€™s Day: The Silver Surfer

Norrin Radd is just the bearer of bad news. It€™s who he is. Even when he€™s not heralding for Galactus, the very nature of his existence is one of sacrifice and being separated from the woman he loves. He is a perpetual equivalent of that guy sitting in a bar lamenting his past. It€™s an elephant in the cosmic room, just lurking there in the vacuum of any outing you€™d spend with him. It€™d be like the song A Whole New World (or as others have observed, a 1990s Capri Sun commercial) with all the fun sucked out of it (no pun intended with the Capri Sun), probably in a minor chord€”at best, it€™d be Trouble by Cat Stevens. And being reminded of how much of a risk relationships are just isn€™t kosher on such a hallowed celebration as Valentine€™s Day. Plus, since Radd has cool powers and no use for money, he€™d probably make his own cards, and what good would that do for the world economy?
