10 Holidays To Not Invite A Superhero To

4. Thanksgiving: Green Arrow

4_Thanksgiving Green Arrow

Green Arrow is one of the most unapologetically outspoken and awesomely results-oriented individuals in any comics universe. But sometimes, it€™s generally agreed upon by everyone that Mr. Queen can tone down that preachiness a notch, especially at Thanksgiving, when, regardless of its origins, people just want to enjoy dinner together on a day off from working for the Man. Even though the Emerald Archer appreciates this, he isn€™t one to let things on his mind fall by the wayside, nor does he always think before he acts, especially when his feelings are involved. You wouldn€™t even be able to get through grace without a lecture on the flaws of organized and/or civil religion seguing into a more detailed and pointed indictment on the structure of American rhetoric and worldviews in general and how the Thanksgiving story perpetuates all kinds of problems. Like many things around the world, we all know Thanksgiving is flawed, but many of us are trying to do our best, and whenever someone brings that kind of thing up, especially at dinner, it€™s usually just a downer.
